Parenting Skills: How To Make Your Child Eat
Children always go through a phase where they always say no to express their autonomy. And they always practice that when it comes to eating time. They always run around during meal time and they don’t want to sit on their chair and eat. As a parent, you want your child to have the best nourishment as he grows older. But most young children are picky eaters and that is a phase that you have to go through with them. As part of good parenting skills, you can make your child eat something healthy without hindering them from their active lifestyle. Let us talk about some effective ways how.
For example, when you give your child something to eat and you know he’s hungry, he will sometimes say no. Don’t scold him right away. Instead, give him choices. Don’t offer one food because he might choose to go for a no answer. Offer two choices so he will have to choose and since no is out of the option, he will have to choose one. Another good way for total transformation on your child’s eating and nourishment is preparing healthy finger foods. If your child loves playing around all the time, you can always give him something he can carry around. That way, you can give him nourishment. But still, practicing eating around the table is also necessary. Give him an award like a piece of chocolate after he spent all of his eating time without leaving the table. That will encourage him to do it again and behave the same way next time.
